Furnace and Air Conditioner Replacement
We had the opportunity to work with a customer that recently completed a full home renovation, which generated a significant amount of sheetrock dust. Although she was diligent about changing her air filters regularly, she was unaware that the system had been poorly installed. There were multiple gaps and a concealed filter slot-covered when a wall was added-that allowed dust to bypass the filter, which was installed higher up in the ductwork. As a result, sheetrock dust accumulated in the furnace’s secondary heat exchanger and evaporator coil, leading to repeated overheating issues over the following months.
Given the extent of the damage and the high cost of repairs, the customer decided to replace both the furnace and air conditioner. We installed a new Goodman 96% AFUE single-stage furnace and a 13.4 SEER2 air conditioner. In addition, we thoroughly sealed all ductwork leaks to ensure no unfiltered air can bypass the system in the future.
